I’m willing to go out on a limb here and guess that most stories of kindness do not begin with drug addicted celebrity bad boys.

Mine does.

His name is Robert Downey Jr.

You’ve probably heard of him. You may or may not be a fan, but I am, and I was in the…

Hufflepuff Psychology: The Introverted, Sensing, Thinking and Judging (ISTJ) Hufflepuff

The ISTJ is coined “The Inspector” type within the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator table. These Hufflepuffs are the quiet students in the back corners of the common room, surrounded by their school books and/or parchment, working quietly. But don’t be deceived – they are more than aware of everything going around them. It is quite possible that they are hoping to hear something new and/or exciting about the lives of those around them. They may look unassuming and uninterested, but this would be a mistaken judgement – ISTJ’s crave knowledge of their surroundings, their peers and of events happening in and around their lives. Though, remember: it would be highly unfair to deem ISTJ’s as “gossips”; a thirst for knowledge should never be misconstrued for innate maliciousness. It is hard to conceal anything from a tenacious ISTJ – as they grow and mature in their thinking processes; they become very accomplished at finding out what they want to know. As such, they may seem intimidating to those who don’t know them and most especially, to those who struggle to trust easily. This is where the innate traits of a Hufflepuff should bear in mind; loyalty, a fair and just attitude and an acute value placed on friendship. A Hufflepuff ISTJ is traditionally trustworthy and sincere – they merely possess a curiosity about the world that often isn’t seen at first due to their introverted nature. An ISTJ’s introversion leads them to prefer to blend into the background, as it allows them to fulfil their quest for knowledge uninhibited. It is important to remember that an Introvert is not necessarily “shy” or a social recluse as they’ve often been misinterpreted or maliciously caricatured. An introvert is simply an individual who prefers to think independently and comes to conclusions before consulting or being influenced by other opinions. As Sensors, they prefer to trust information that is solid and concrete: that is, information that can be understood by the five senses that is highly unlikely to change due to human foibles. This can often work against them, if they choose to simply believe what they hear. This is where the fair and just nature of the Hufflepuff comes welcomingly into play; before deciding on what they believe, they can often be seen “researching” what they’ve seen/heard, as so they do not jump to incorrect conclusions. This makes them hard to fool with shallow gossip or malicious intentions and lies. Therefore, with their tendency to “research” and need for information to be concrete, it is clear that their decisions often take a while to be made. But when Introverted Sensors such as the ISTJ do come to a decision, they are therefore very difficult to sway from them, unless concrete evidence can be presented otherwise.Being Thinkers rather than Feelers, and Judgers rather than Perceivers, ISTJ’s are able to detach themselves from their emotions in decision making. They are able to stand apart from a situation and use a logical approach as a means to solve and/or think their way through it. This further supports the notion that decisions are often slowly come to by these individuals. However, as a result, their decisions are often well considered, multi-faceted and nearly infallible every time. In today’s fast paced world and with the illusion that results are needed instantaneously, these Types are often undervalued.Hufflepuff ISTJ’s, like every other Type, have the potential to grow and change in their personality. Though, once someone grows with these traits, it is unlikely that any great change will occur in regards to their Myers-Briggs Typing. They become secure in their thinking pattern routine, knowing that it will produce the results they seek, regardless of how long it takes. For an ISTJ to change their method of thinking would upset their routine and frustrate them, resulting in an inability to accurately discern their lives, would lead them to “spiral” and become emotionally unstable. Of course, certain life events may put them through this stress regardless, and as such, they may need to change their way of thinking and operating to overcome this. Like every type, this is achievable. This stress can adversely affect a Hufflepuff, but the support and patience of friends can soften the hardship and reassure them of their self-worth.

I dedicate this battle to Odin.: 25 DEEP Questions. Please do ask!

johnwatsonatthedisco:

1. What is more difficult for you, looking into someones eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into someones eyes when they are telling you how they feel?

2. Think of the last time you were REALLY angry. WHY were you angry? Do you still feel the same way?

3. You are on a flight from Honolulu to Chicago non-stop. There is a fire in the back of the plane. You have enough time to make ONE phone call. Who do you call? What do you tell them?

4. You are at the doctor’s office and he has just informed you that you have approximately one month to live. Do you tell anyone/everyone you are going to die? What do you do with your remaining days? Would you be afraid?

5. You can have one of the following two things. Which do you choose? Why? Love and Trust.

6. You are walking down the street on your way to work. There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street. Your boss has told you if you are late even once more, you are fired. Do you take the time to save the dogs life? Why or Why not?

7. Would you rather be hurt by the one you trust the most or the one you love the most?

8. Your best friend confesses that he/she has feelings for you more than just friendship. He/she is falling in love with you. What do you (or did you) do/say?

9. Think of the last person who you know that died. You have the chance to give them 1 hour of life back, but you have to give up one year of yours. Do you do it? Why or Why not?

10. Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend?

11. Does love = sex?

12.Your boss tells your coworker that they have to let them go because of work shortage, and they are the newest employee. You have been there much longer. Your coworker has a family to support and no other means of income. Do you go to your boss and offer to leave the company? Why or Why not?

13.When was the last time you told someone HONESTLY how you felt regardless of how difficult it was for you to say? Who was it? What did you have to tell the person?

14. What would be (or what was) harder for you to tell a member of the opposite sex, you love them or that you do not love them back?

15. What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up? Why would it be hard to lose?

16. Excluding romantic love, when was the last time you told someone you loved them. Who were they to you?

17. If there was one moment and one time in the last month what would you change and why?

18.Imagine it is a dark night, you are alone, it is raining outside, you hear someone walking around outside your window. WHO do you wish was there with you?

19. Would you give a homeless person CPR if they were dying? Why or Why not?

21.You are holding onto your grandmother’s hand and the hand of a newborn that you do not know as they hang over the edge of a cliff. You have to let one go to save the other. Who do you let fall to their death? What was your rationale for making the decision?

22. Are you old fashioned?

23. When was the last time you were nice to someone and did NOT expect anything in return for it?

24.Which would you choose, true love with a guarantee of a broken heart, or never loved at all? Why?

25.If you could do anything or wish anything, what would it be?
